Gerald McMorrow studied at the New York Film Academy. He directed music video clips for artists including Catatonia, The Longpigs, Ultrasound, My Vitriol, Tom Jones, and Cerys Matthews. McMorrow has also produced commercials for D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, Lowe Worldwide, Saatchi & Saatchi, and WCRS Radio, winning Creative Circle and British Television Advertising Awards.^[1]

McMorrow then directed the short film Thespian X (2002), which won the Turner Classic Short Film Festival prize at the London Film Festival in 2002.^[2] He also wrote and directed the science fiction film Franklyn, starring Ryan Phillippe and Eva Green.
